Insulation / Applications

Installation and Cutting Instructions Roofing

Inclined Roof with External Insulation

Non-Load-Bearing Insulation

  • Build the supporting structure (wooden, hollow clay-concrete, or reinforced concrete slab);
  • Apply the vapor barrier if required;
  • Perpendicular to the eaves line, mechanically fix wooden battens with a thickness equal to the insulation and spaced 1 cm less than the panel width. This ensures that the insulation panels fit tightly with slight pressure. Position the panels perfectly adjacent to each other. In the case of a double insulation layer, offset the joints between the upper and lower panels;
  • Fasten a wooden boarding to the wooden framework;
  • Apply the water-resistant but vapor-permeable layer.
  • For a ventilated roof: mechanically fix battens orthogonal to the eaves, with a thickness equal to the ventilation layer required.
  • Parallel to the eaves, mechanically fix an additional batten framework to support the roof covering.
  • Size and space the battens based on the type of roof elements planned.

Inclined wooden roof with internal insulation

  • Install the insulation with slight pressure between the wooden framework. Ensure that the panels or rolls are perfectly adjacent to each other;
  • To support the insulation material, fix wooden battens perpendicular to the main beams at a distance of 60 cm or use wire zigzagged between nails driven into the beams, spaced 40 cm apart.

In case of habitable attics:
  • Apply the finishing layer using wooden tongue-and-groove boards nailed to the main beams or gypsum plasterboard sheets fixed to a substructure of metal profiles, which should in turn be secured to the beams.
